Sex Attacks on London Buses: Police Hunt Pervert Targeting Teenage Girls

Police are on the hunt for a sick predator who’s been sexually assaulting teenage girls on crowded London buses. The suspect struck multiple times on busy routes, targeting vulnerable young victims in broad daylight.

Repeated Attacks on Route 279 and More

The vile attacks began on 25 January when the man boarded the route 279 bus at Tesco Ponders End at 8:55am. He sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman while the bus was packed between Ponders End and Angel, Edmonton.

On 29 January at 7:20am, the same suspect struck again on the route 279, this time assaulting a 14-year-old schoolgirl who boarded at Scotland Green before he got off at Enfield Highway.

More victims came forward reporting similar assaults:

  • 21 February at 7:45am – A 14-year-old girl sexually assaulted while standing on the route 279 bus from Nightingale Road to Ingersoll Road.
  • 12 March at 8am – A 15-year-old girl attacked on the busy route 34 bus from Cambridge Roundabout to Green Lanes.
  • 15 March at 8:55am – A 17-year-old girl on the route 102 bus from Fortismere Avenue to Palmerston Road was targeted as the suspect sat nearby and indecently exposed himself.

Police Describe Suspect and Appeal for Help

The suspect is described as having short black hair and a thin beard along his jawline. He was last seen wearing a two-tone padded blue jacket and blue jeans.

“We know of at least five offences committed by the same suspect on crowded buses,” said Detective Sergeant Edward Coleman, leading the investigation. “We want to hear from anyone who recognizes this man or who may have been targeted themselves while travelling on buses.”
