Romford Man Jailed for Dartford Home Invasion

A violent home invasion in Dartford ended with one culprit behind bars. Carlton Gregoire, 29, has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for the terrifying break-in that left the victim shaken but unharmed.

Masked Thugs Scale Lamp Post to Break In

The shocking incident unfolded on 2 May 2024 when Gregoire and two accomplices drove from Romford to Kent in a Hyundai. They parked near The Brent, Dartford, before covering their faces and forcing their way into a home by climbing a lamp post and entering through a window.

Once inside, armed with a knife and a bottle, the trio threatened the terrified occupant. The victim managed to escape, hiding behind nearby cars until the intruders fled the scene.

Police Crack Case with CCTV and Swift Action

Kent Police sprang into action after the victim’s call. Investigators recovered CCTV footage of the Hyundai arriving and leaving the area. Further enquiries confirmed the vehicle’s Romford origins and tracked Gregoire’s involvement.

Arrested at his Romford address on 4 June, Gregoire pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary at Maidstone Crown Court. He was sentenced to three years and nine months behind bars.

Detective Praises Swift Justice, Hunt Continues for Accomplices

“This was a terrifying incident for the victim who had no idea why his home had been targeted,” said Detective Sergeant Richard Taylor of the Kent Crime Squad. “Thankfully, the victim escaped without injury, but the ordeal will stay with him.

“This sort of crime is always a priority, and our prompt investigation has put one offender behind bars. The search for the remaining suspects continues.”

The court ruling brings relief to the victim but the police remain on the hunt for the other criminals involved in this brutal home invasion.
