Folkestone Man Jailed Over Brutal Stabbing and Intimidation
A violent thug from Folkestone has been locked up for over two and a half years after stabbing a man and then bullying him to silence. Tyler Flisher, 21, from Hawkinge, attacked his victim in a nasty disturbance last October.
Knife Attack Sparks Police Response
The violent incident unfolded on October 23, 2022, near Pannell Drive just after 9pm. Police arrived to find a man bleeding from a chest stab wound. The victim was rushed to hospital and discharged a week later after treatment.
Flisher had been meeting a woman near Benson Lane when a heated dispute broke out between his group and the victim’s friends. Known to each other, the argument quickly escalated, ending with Flisher inflicting the stab wound.
continued Threats Lead to Heavy Sentence
Despite bail conditions banning contact with witnesses, Flisher kept intimidating his victim, stoking fear of further violence. He was arrested the next day and charged with unlawful wounding and witness intimidation.
On August 1, 2024, Canterbury Crown Court sentenced Flisher to two years and seven months in prison. A three-year restraining order was also imposed, barring him from contacting the victim and a second witness.
Police Insist Knife Crime Will Not Be Tolerated
“Flisher is a violent offender who showed no remorse and persisted in threats after the offence,” said Detective Constable Natasha Russell.
“There is no place for knives on our streets. We hope this custodial sentence sends a clear message that violence like this won’t be tolerated.”
She added: “We want the victim to feel reassured that Flisher is behind bars and protected by a restraining order upon release.”
