Man Jailed for Sharing Ex's Nude Pics in Vicious Revenge Plot
A 21-year-old man has been locked up for 21 months after sharing sexually explicit photos of his ex-girlfriend. Cem Kucukbalaban, from Waltham Forest, was found guilty of disclosing private images to cause distress, stalking, and harassment at Wood Green Crown Court.
Harassment and Stalking Land Him Behind Bars
Kucukbalaban’s sentencing on 28 November handed him 18 months for stalking and harassment, and an additional 3 months for sharing explicit photos – the latter to run consecutively. He’s also slapped with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for life and ordered to destroy all devices linked to the crimes.
Ex Sets Up Fake Account, Posts Nude Pics
The nightmare began after a brief three-month romance ended. Kucukbalaban started stalking his ex, leaving messages and following her home. He then created a fake Instagram account in her name. Using software, he secretly recorded her during a video call and nabbed intimate photos, which he later posted online.
Police Crack Down After Victim Reports Abuse
The victim reported the stalking and harassment this March. Detectives from Enfield Community Safety Unit swooped on 30 March, arresting Kucukbalaban and uncovering screenshots, messages, and images on his phone that proved the sickening plot.
“Kucukbalaban carried out a sustained and spiteful campaign of abuse against a vulnerable victim of domestic abuse and clearly intended to cause the victim great distress and fear,” said DI Pete Dyche from Enfield CID. “I hope that today’s sentence allows her a measure of comfort that enables her to move on with her life.”
