Fugitive Marc Stinton Nabbed After 17 Months on the Run
Marc Stinton, 38, finally off the streets after over a year as a wanted man. The no-fixed-address suspect was hunted by Sussex Police following a brutal attack at Southwick Green in the early hours of Sunday 26 September 2021.
Gruesome Assault Leaves Victim Fighting for Life
The victim, 47, was found semi-conscious, bleeding heavily, with serious head injuries and multiple broken bones in his face. The shocking attack sparked a major manhunt.
Stinton Surrenders and Faces Serious Charges
On Wednesday 1 February, Stinton handed himself in. Police arrested him and charged him with “causing grievous bodily harm with intent.” Back in November 2022, Sussex Police had offered a £500 reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
Yesterday, 3 February, Stinton pleaded not guilty at Crawley Magistrates’ Court and was released on strict bail conditions, including an electronic tag. He is set to face a pre-trial hearing at Crown Court on 31 March.
