Pervert Busted in Police Sting Before Abuse Could Happen

Thomas Brewerton, 25, made a sick trip last November from Stourbridge to Swindon with plans to sexually abuse a girl under 13. But police were waiting for him and stopped the vile act before it could begin.

Six Years Locked Up Plus Indefinite Sexual Harm Order

On 18 March, Swindon Crown Court slammed Brewerton with six years and four months behind bars after he pleaded guilty to arranging or facilitating sexual activity with a child under 13. He was immediately thrown in custody. The judge also slapped him with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) to stop him striking again.

Police Strike Hard Against Child Predators

“Thomas Brewerton is a dangerous individual who sought to rape a child and my officers acted swiftly to detain him,” said DI Dave Wells from SWROCU.

“Our team is part of a national specialist network hunting down those with a sexual interest in children, intervening before damage is done. This sentence and SHPO will help keep our communities safe.”

If you suspect child abuse or want to report a crime, contact police via their website or call 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
