Chaos on Pencester Road: Baseball Bat Attack Sparks Police Probe
Violence erupted in broad daylight on Pencester Road at around 7.15pm on Saturday, 16 April 2022. Trouble flared between passengers in two black cars – a BMW 116 and a Seat Toledo – parked outside local shops.
Fight Breaks Out After Car Park Showdown
The BMW was stationary when the Seat pulled up alongside. After a brief confrontation, the Seat sped off 20 to 30 metres before screeching to a halt. Four men jumped out and charged at the BMW, wielding a baseball bat and smashing the vehicle.
Getaway Ends in Crash
The group jumped back into the Seat and fled – but disaster struck. The driver allegedly ran a red light and smashed into a taxi. Miraculously, no one was hurt in either incident.
Four Men Arrested, Police Hunt Witnesses
Officers have arrested four men aged 18 to 21, hailing from Dover, Ashford, and Deal, on suspicion of violent disorder. They’ve been bailed until 9 May as inquiries ramp up. Detectives are now piecing together CCTV and appealing to witnesses.
“We believe there are several people who haven’t come forward yet,” police said. “If you have dashcam or phone footage, please get in touch.”
