Woman Charged with Murder After Tragic Deaths of Two Children in Margate
Double Tragedy in Margate
Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have charged a woman with murder following the deaths of two children in Margate. At around 3.35am on Thursday, 27 December 2018, officers responded to a welfare concern at a property on Castle Drive.
Children Rushed to Hospital
Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended the scene. The two young children were taken to hospital but were sadly confirmed dead shortly after arrival.
Mother Charged and Remanded
Samantha Ford, 37, of Castle Drive, Margate, was arrested at the scene. On 28 December, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised charges of two counts of murder against her. She has been remanded in custody and is set to appear before Canterbury Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 29 December 2018.
