Woman Breaks Security, Assaults Staff at Gatwick Airport

A 45-year-old woman has been convicted for assault and breaching security at London Gatwick Airport after trying to sneak onto a flight to Milan without a valid passport.

Denied Boarding, Chaos Unfolds

Mistura Alade and a minor tried to board their flight with passports that didn’t meet the EU’s three-month validity rule. When refused, they broke through a security door and emergency exit, setting off alarms and knocking down an airport employee, who was seriously injured.

Trial and Sentence

Alade, formerly a supermarket worker from Birmingham, faced charges at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court for assault and unauthorised entry under the Aviation Security Act. She was handed a one-year community order, must complete 40 hours of unpaid work and 20 Rehabilitation Activity sessions, plus pay £200 compensation to the injured staff member. The victim was off work for several weeks.

Police Speak Out

“Alade was told she couldn’t travel and was directed to airport help services,” said Detective Sergeant Ian Warncken from Gatwick CID. “Instead of getting help, she tried to sneak aboard and ignored staff warnings.”

“Her reckless actions endangered herself and other passengers after she entered a restricted zone, nearly boarding the wrong plane. Despite triggering two alarms, she claimed ignorance of the rules.”

“Passengers must ensure their passports are valid for onward travel,” Warncken added.

The minor involved also pleaded guilty and received a four-month Youth Referral Order plus £30 compensation.
