Predator Fadare Gets 25 Months After Brazen Daytime Spree of Sex Attacks

Abigail Fadare, 39, from Enfield, was jailed for 25 months at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday, 11 August. He pleaded guilty to five separate sexual assaults that terrorised women across Chingford and Leyton in October 2020. Alongside his prison sentence, Fadare received a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and must sign the Sex Offenders Register.

Day of Horror: Fadare’s Chingford Attack Spree

On 20 October 2020, Fadare struck soon after dawn. Arriving in Chingford just before 7.25am, he carried out four attacks over a four-and-a-half-hour rampage. His spree began with theft after his card was declined trying to buy food – a clue that helped police track him.

The first victim, a 23-year-old woman, was followed and groped on Hall Lane as she walked to work. Despite telling him to leave her alone, Fadare persisted, grabbing her arm before she escaped into a side street.

Moments later, at a bus stop on Chingford Mount Road, he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old schoolgirl, making lewd comments while touching her. Shocked, she managed to back away.

Attacks Continue in Leyton and Hackney

Later that morning, Fadare targeted two women in Lea Valley Park. The first victim, a 31-year-old out with her child, was molested near a footbridge. She fled as he smiled at her before disappearing into nearby bushes.

About 20 minutes later, Fadare singled out a 30-year-old woman also with her child. Thinking he intended robbery, she brandished her phone, which enabled her to break free and escape.

Final Assault Leads to Capture

Days later on 5 November, Fadare attacked a fifth woman waiting for a bus in the City of London. The victim, an off-duty police officer, followed him and quickly alerted authorities. This led to Fadare’s swift arrest.

Police Praise Vigilance and Victims’ Bravery

Detectives linked the attacks through similar victim descriptions and forensic CCTV work. The Met’s Operation Sapphire team painstakingly pieced together Fadare’s movements and secured his conviction. Despite his silence during police interviews, Fadare was positively identified by victims at an identity parade.

“Fadare showed himself to be a sexual predator who targeted vulnerable women, including a schoolgirl and mothers with children,” said Detective Sergeant Darren Case.

“He thought secluded locations would help him hide his crimes, but we were relentless. Hours of CCTV footage and financial enquiries led us here. I want to recognise the courage of the victims and hope this sentence brings some closure.”
