Pedestrian Killed in Cowfold Hit-and-Run on A272
Police are urgently hunting witnesses after a tragic hit-and-run on the A272 Bolney Road in Cowfold. A 44-year-old man from West Chiltington died in the early hours of Saturday, 31 August, after being struck by a grey Mercedes.
Emergency Crews Battle to Save Victim
Officers, paramedics, and heroic bystanders performed CPR at the scene, but sadly the victim was pronounced dead. His family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers during this heartbreaking time.
Driver Arrested on Drug-Driving Charges
A 31-year-old London man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and drug-driving. He remains in police custody as investigations continue.
