Zion Zion Snubs Court, Faces Sexual Assault Charges

Zion Zion, 65, from Bierton Road, Aylesbury, is dodging justice. Accused of two counts of sexual assault linked to a January 7, 2023 incident in Oxford, he was set to appear at Oxford Crown Court on January 30, 2026. But the defendant refused to attend via video link from Woodlands House mental health unit.

A staff member confirmed Zion’s no-show, forcing Judge Ian Pringle KC to enter not guilty pleas on his behalf. Now, Zion faces the case without legal representation, raising fresh questions about his cooperation.

Trial Delayed Amid Backlog, Public Interest at Risk

Prosecutor Michael Chambers warned the case is a serious public interest matter and must proceed despite delays. However, with Britain’s courts overloaded, there’s a real risk Zion’s trial won’t happen until 2028.

Next Court Date in May 2026

The court has pencilled in a further hearing for May 22, 2026. Officials hope to set a firm trial date then, but Zion’s ongoing silence is throwing a spanner in the works.
