A Thatched cottage was completely gutted by fire, leaving one person treated at the scene and another rushed to hospital. The drama unfolded after a sharp-eyed passerby spotted the flames and raised the alarm, alerting the owners just as they sat down for dinner.

Massive Fire Crew Battles Blaze

Forty firefighters were scrambled to tackle the inferno on East Moen Road in Langrish, a village just outside Petersfield, Hampshire. The fire tore through the property, sending thick smoke and flames roaring into the night sky.

Neighbours Look On in Horror

A nearby resident, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “It was about 8.20pm when we saw smoke and flames climbing the roof. At first, we thought it was a bonfire, but getting closer, I realised the roof was on fire.”
