Bomb Scare in Enfield Sparks Evacuation and Arrest

Police rushed to Capel Road, Enfield just before 8.30pm on Friday, 5 January after reports of a man armed with explosives at a residential address.

Specialist Units Sweep Area, Neighbours Evacuated

Officers arrived swiftly, treating the situation with caution. Several nearby homes were evacuated while road closures and cordons were set up to keep the public safe.

No Explosives Found – Man Arrested for Threats

After a thorough search, the man was found unarmed with no explosives. Police also searched the property but uncovered nothing suspicious.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill.

“Police were called shortly before 20:30hrs on Friday, 5 January to Capel Road, Enfield following reports of a disturbance at a residential address. A man at the location was reported to be armed with explosives. Specialist officers attended as a precaution. Some neighbouring addresses were evacuated, and road closures and cordons were put in place. The man was located and confirmed not to be in possession of any weapons or explosives. An address in Capel Road was also searched with no suspicious items found. A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill.”
