Man Dies in Devastating House Fire
A semi-detached house was partially destroyed by fire late last night. Firefighters discovered a man inside the ground floor extension but, tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Blaze Brought Under Control in Just Over an Hour
The Brigade was called at 11.19pm and had the flames under control by 12.24am. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Addington, croydon/" title="Croydon" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Croydon, and Purley rushed to the scene to battle the blaze.
Investigation Underway
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service. No further details have been released.
