A pensioner in his 70s was targeted and had his bank card stolen while withdrawing cash at an ATM on Calverley Road around 12:45pm on June 16, 2022.

Two women approached the man, pretending to ask for directions while speaking in a foreign tongue—possibly German. They got uncomfortably close and distracted him just long enough to swipe his card.

The victim only realised his card was gone after noticing suspicious transactions. Shockingly, the stolen card was used in more than 90 online frauds across the country, including multiple charges in Kent and Sevenoaks.
