Croydon Assault Victim Dies Two Weeks After Brutal Attack
Detectives hunting four men linked to a vicious assault in Croydon have released CCTV images as they step up their investigation.
Man Attacked and Hospitalised on London Road
The victim, 40-year-old Simon Whisker, was involved in a violent brawl at around 1.30am on Wednesday, 1 July. He was punched and stamped on by four males before being rushed to hospital. Although treated and discharged initially, Simon sadly passed away two weeks later, in the early hours of Monday, 13 July.
Police Appeal for Public Help to ID Suspects
Officers from the South Area Command Unit say Simon’s death is not being treated as murder. A special post-mortem has taken place, and inquiries continue. No arrests have been made so far. Detectives released CCTV images of the four men they want to question.
“The victim became involved in an altercation with a group of males and was viciously assaulted,” said Detective Constable Jo Cheung.
“We want to find out who was responsible for the attack on Simon. If anyone recognises these men, please get in touch.”
