£15 Million Crypto Scam Busted in Hackney

Two men have been arrested in a massive police crackdown on a £15 million cryptocurrency scam and money laundering plot in Hackney.

Early Morning Raids Rock Stamford Hill

In dramatic early morning raids on May 7, Met Police swooped on six properties across Stamford Hill. The biggest operation took place on Castlewood Road as part of Operation Galafarm, the Met’s major offensive against economic crime.

Pictures show Territorial Support Group officers unloading riot gear and swarming the usually quiet residential street. The suspects, aged 25 and 36, were hauled into custody amid the chaos.

Millions Laundered Through Fake Companies

The Metropolitan Police believe millions were laundered through a web of bogus shell companies operating a sophisticated crypto fraud targeting innocent victims.

“Two men have been arrested as part of a Metropolitan Police investigation into a multi-million pound fraud and money laundering scheme. It is alleged that more than £15 million in stolen funds was laundered through a set of shell companies,” a Met spokesperson confirmed.

Investigation Still Ongoing

Both suspects remain in custody as detectives from the Met’s Economic Crime Command continue to unravel the details of this high-stakes scam.
