Black Lives Matter Activist Sasha Johnson Shot in South London
Police are hunting for clues after a young woman was found with life-threatening injuries in Southwark, south London, at around 3am. The victim, in her 20s, was reportedly shot in the head.
Sasha Johnson Targeted Over Death Threats
The Taking the Initiative Party revealed the victim is Sasha Johnson, a prominent activist known for her battle against racial injustice. The party posted on Facebook that Sasha had faced multiple death threats before the attack.
“It is with great sadness that we inform you our own Sasha Johnson has sustained a gunshot wound to her head,” the statement said. “Sasha has always been actively fighting for black people and against the injustices surrounding the black community.”
Activist, Mother, and Community Leader
Sasha is a committed member of Black Lives Matter and the executive leadership committee of the Taking the Initiative Party. She is also a mother of three.
The statement urged the public to rally behind Sasha and her family at this difficult time. “Let’s all come together and pray for Sasha, pray for her recovery and show our support to her and loved ones,” it said.
Police continue their investigation as the community holds its breath for news on Sasha’s condition.
