60-Year-Old Arrested After Cannabis Farm Busted in Maidstone Loft
Raids Uncover Cannabis Grow Operation
Early Tuesday, November 10, Maidstone police executed a dawn raid on a property in Gallants Lane, East Farleigh. The town’s community policing team found a cannabis cultivation setup hidden in the loft, complete with drying nets stuffed with harvested buds.
Suspicious Activity Leads to Arrest
A 60-year-old Maidstone man was arrested on suspicion of drug offences. He was later released but remains under investigation as police continue to probe the illegal grow.
Police Urge Public to Spot the Signs
Inspector Stephen Kent of Maidstone’s Community Safety Unit warned: “We want anyone who suspects a cannabis factory in their area to come forward. Look out for windows permanently covered from the inside, vents poking out of roof tiles, or a strong, distinctive smell wafting from the building.”
“Other red flags include compost bags and gardening gear near the back door with no obvious gardening activity, plus people visiting only briefly but regularly.”
