Teen Dies in Horror M8 Crash Near Newhouse
A 19-year-old man lost his life in a deadly crash on the M8 early Saturday morning. The young driver was behind the wheel of a Toyota Yaris when he smashed into a stationary Iveco lorry near junction 6 on the westbound carriageway at around 1:50 a.m.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene but sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the spot.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash-Cam Footage
“Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died at this difficult time,” said Sergeant Craig McDonald from the Divisional Road Policing Unit in Motherwell.
“The investigation is ongoing, and we urge anyone who witnessed the crash or drove along the M8 around this time to come forward. Dash-cam footage could be vital to help us piece together what happened.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 0354 of March 25.
