21-Year-Old Arrested After Spate of Ashford Robberies
A 21-year-old man from Ashford has been arrested following three linked robbery incidents in the town. The arrest came after Kent Police issued a witness appeal last Friday.
Early Morning Bag Snatches Shake Ashford
- 7.40am, 3rd December: A woman in her 40s was targeted in an alley by Heathfield Estate near Canterbury Road. A man tried to snatch her handbag, but she fought back and held on tight. The attacker fled empty-handed towards the estate.
- 8am, Cemetery Lane: A woman in her 70s was approached while walking near the cycle path crossing the M20 at Junction 9. No items were reported stolen.
- 10.20am, Bockhanger Lane: Another woman in her late 70s was robbed of her bag.
The suspect has since been released on bail until 16th December as investigations continue.
