Redditch Crash Horror: Driver Rams Pedestrians, Three Seriously Hurt
Chaos erupted in Redditch last night when a black Peugeot Rapier mounted the kerb and smashed into a group of pedestrians on Summer Street around 10pm.
Driver Held After Shocking Incident
The driver, a man in his 20s from Redditch, was pinned down by members of the public at the scene before police arrested him on suspicion of dangerous and drink driving. He remains in custody this morning.
Five Injured, Three Seriously
Five pedestrians were hurt; three suffered serious injuries and were rushed to hospital. Thankfully, their conditions are not currently thought to be life threatening.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
The road was shut for hours during the police investigation but has now reopened. Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the crash or has dash-cam footage.
