Boy, 10, Seriously Injured in Reading Road Crash

A ten-year-old boy lies seriously hurt after being hit by a minibus in Reading yesterday afternoon.

Minibus Strikes Child at Busy Crossing

Just after 3.40pm on 11th May, the youngster was crossing the A329 Kings Road near the Hope Bear pub when a black Renault Master minibus slammed into him. The vehicle was heading towards the town centre, driving in the contraflow bus lane near the pedestrian crossing.

Severe Injuries and Urgent Appeal for Witnesses

The boy sustained multiple injuries, including a broken leg and arm, a bruised lung, and facial wounds. He was rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and remains there under treatment.

“This was a serious collision which has resulted in a child suffering extensive injuries,” said PC Brendan Austin of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit.

“We urge anyone who saw the crash or has dash-cam footage from the area at the time to come forward.”
