Man Injured by Crossbow in Gillingham – Police Hunt Witnesses
Police in Gillingham are urgently appealing for witnesses after a shocking incident where a man was injured by a crossbow while walking along Victoria Street.
Crossbow Attack Shakes Victoria Street
The alarming attack took place on Thursday, February 8, 2024. The victim was approached by a man who used a crossbow against him. Thankfully, the victim has since been discharged from hospital.
Suspect Likely Known to Victim, Police Say
PC Stuart Drakeley from Swale’s CID revealed the offender is believed to be known to the victim. He said: “We believe the offender would have been walking nearby, and the crossbow was likely visible since it is too large to hide in a bag.”
Officers Seek Witnesses and CCTV Footage
Police want to speak with anyone who was in the area between 3pm and 7pm on the day of the attack. They are also urging residents and drivers with CCTV or dashcam footage from Victoria Street to come forward.
