Man Arrested After Stabbing in Southampton
A 44-year-old man has been arrested after a stabbing in St Mary’s Street last night. The attack, which took place just after 6.15pm on Tuesday 10 August, left a 36-year-old victim with serious leg injuries.
Armed Police Respond to Knife Attack
Armed Response officers were quickly deployed to the scene. Following a thorough search, the 44-year-old suspect was arrested and is currently in police custody.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Inspector Al Dineley of Southampton Central’s Neighbourhood Policing Team addressed concerned residents:
“We know there was a large police presence in the area last night which may have caused concern amongst some residents. We want to reassure you that tackling serious violence and weapon-related crime remains a priority for us.”
