Young Man Nabbed Over London Bomb Scare
Detectives from the Met Police Counter Terrorism Command swooped on a Cambridge address early today, Saturday 12 September, arresting a man in his 20s. He’s suspected of trying to cause an explosion or handling explosives with intent to endanger life or property, under the Explosive Substances Act 1883.
Early Morning Raid with Armed Backup
The arrest came just after 9.10am, with support from Cambridgeshire’s Armed Response Unit as a safety precaution. The suspect was taken into custody at a south London police station under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
Probe Linked to Suspicious Package in North London
The operation ties back to a suspicious package delivered to a north London home in Cricklewood on Thursday, 10 September. Police rushed to the scene shortly after 9:10am and safely neutralised what experts described as a small improvised explosive device.
Officers later cleared the area, confirming there was no threat to the local community.
