Warning After Parklife Pills Found 1.5x Stronger Than Usual
MDMA Pills Get Dangerous at Parklife Festival
The charity The Loop has revealed new ecstasy pills spotted at this weekend’s Parklife festival were around 1.5 times stronger than the typical dose. Testing at the UK’s biggest summer raves shows festival-goers are taking riskier drugs than ever.
The Loop’s Findings: Pills Piled With Potency
Operating across eight festivals this summer, The Loop shares vital drug-testing results to highlight dangers. After Parklife, their first 2022 festival test found the average MDMA pill packed 170mg—much harder hitting than the normal 110mg dose.
They posted on Twitter: “New pills in ’22: The Loop tested a selection of MDMA pills for the first time at Parklifefest, our first festival of the 2022 UK summer festival season.”
Standout pill types included:
- Bi-layer Louis Vuitton – 199mg
- Dollar Eyes Emoji – 143mg
- Small Lips Trump – 188mg
- Lucky Clover – 208mg
- Dollar Moneybag – 118mg
- Dutch/Canal House – 160mg
- Fist Emoji – 223mg
- VW Camper Van – 163mg
Despite their cool emojis and logos, these pills ring alarm bells for researchers over overdose risks and unpredictability.
Charity Warns: Just Because It’s Stronger, Doesn’t Mean It’s Safer
Jay Jackson, a researcher with The Loop, said: “Last year, almost half the samples we tested didn’t contain any MDMA at all. This year that’s down to only 11%, so maybe the MDMA shortage is over—but that doesn’t mean taking drugs is any safer.”
The biggest danger? Pills hitting harder than ever, increasing risks on the dancefloor.
How To Stay Safe This Festival Season
The Loop’s blunt advice: “The safest option is not to take any drugs.” But if you do:
- Do your research to understand the true risks.
- Take it slow and start with a low dose.
- Stay hydrated by sipping water regularly.
- Always #justsayknow before you go.
