Becontree station in Dagenham was plunged into chaos this morning after blood and suspected human tissue were found on one of its platforms. The grisly discovery sparked a swift police response and a temporary station shutdown.
Station Shut Down as Police Investigate
The find was made at Becontree station on Gale Street at around 8:43 AM on April 18th. British Transport Police moved quickly, closing the station to the public until 9:45 AM to conduct a thorough investigation.
A BTP spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Becontree underground station following reports of blood and what appeared to be human tissue on the platform.”
False Alarm – Blood Not Human
While the closure caused delays and disruption for commuters, tests later confirmed the blood and tissue were not human after all. The station was reopened once the scene was fully examined and deemed safe.
