Thameslink Train Theft Sparks Police Hunt
British Transport Police (BTP) have launched an urgent appeal after a suitcase stuffed with a significant amount of cash was stolen on a Thameslink train. The theft happened on Monday, 3 February 2025, during a journey from Sussex to London.
The victim boarded the train at Three Bridges railway station at around 7am, carrying the cash-filled suitcase. CCTV footage shows a woman picking up the suitcase and leaving the train as it arrived at St Pancras International station at about 9:30am.

Police released a CCTV image of the woman they want to speak to about the theft. Officers believe she could hold vital information to crack the case.
“If you recognise the woman in the image or have any information about the incident, please get in touch. Any detail, no matter how small, could be crucial,” said a British Transport Police spokesperson.
