Car Chase Ends in Smash After Alleged Theft in Swanley
A car linked to a booze theft at Crockenhill Premier in Broadway ended up crashing into another vehicle and a home on Goldsel Road, Swanley, on Monday afternoon, September 16, 2024.
Suspect Steals Alcohol, Flees Scene
According to eyewitnesses, a male suspect swiped a bottle of alcohol from the Premier store before speeding off in a car. Witnesses say the driver looked clearly intoxicated behind the wheel.
The Chase That Turned Dangerous
About an hour later, the same vehicle collided with another car and then smashed into a residential building on Goldsel Road. Fortunately, occupants were out of the vehicles by then.
Emergency Crews Rush to Scene
- Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) arrived at 3:11 p.m. with two fire engines and a Technical Rescue Team to check the building’s structural safety.
- Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) treated those involved at the scene.
After securing the area, KFRS handed the incident over to Kent Police, who are now investigating both the crash and the theft.
