Ram Raiders Smash Into Ewell Co-op in Brazen Cashpoint Heist
A ruthless gang struck again overnight in Surrey, targeting a Co-op in Cox Lane, Ewell. At around 4am on Monday, November 27, thieves rammed a vehicle straight through the store’s front windows and made off with a cash machine loaded with a hefty haul of cash.
Police Launch High-Speed Hunt After Daring Break-In
Eyewitnesses say the gang fled in their vehicle before police swooped in. The National Air Support helicopter was scrambled following a tip-off from a nearby upstairs neighbour who saw the getaway. Surrey Police have since sealed off the scene and secured the Co-op while forensic officers comb for clues.
Evidence Left Behind as Staff Reel from Shock
Despite the gang’s hasty escape, investigators found tools abandoned in the car park, covered by a plastic sheet, plus a black stocking mask dumped nearby. “We’re gutted,” said one staff member who wished to stay anonymous. “We’re part of this community and do so much for it. It feels like we’ve been betrayed.”

They added:
“Landowners are asked to check their property for anything linked to this crime. We also want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area around the time of the raid.”
