Murder Probe Underway After Woman Found Fatally Injured in Chadwell Heath

Tragedy struck Chadwell Heath Lane in the early hours of Saturday as 27-year-old Zahwa Salah Muktar was found gravely injured. Despite rapid response from police and paramedics arriving just after 5:30am on August 16, Zahwa was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Four Men Held Over Fatal Attack

Police have arrested four men tied to the brutal incident:

  • A 35-year-old man on suspicion of murder
  • A 35-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender
  • A 21-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender
  • A 22-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender

All remain in police custody as detectives continue their investigation. Authorities believe the attack was an isolated incident and those involved knew each other.

Police Search for Witnesses

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke, leading the investigation, said Zahwa had been with a group in the Palatine Road area before the attack. He stressed the importance of speaking to anyone who was with Zahwa or has any information about her movements on August 16.

“Our thoughts remain with Zahwa’s family and friends at this undoubtedly difficult time for them all.

We want to hear from anyone who can help us understand what happened before Zahwa’s death.”

Superintendent Clare McCarthy urged the public to come forward with any details, no matter how small.
