MP Andrew Rosindell Arrested Over Historic Sexual Assault Claims
Shock waves hit Westminster as Tory MP Andrew Rosindell was arrested today in a preplanned police swoop. Scotland Yard confirmed the 50-something lawmaker was taken into custody on suspicion of serious sexual offences.
Rosindell Ordered to Stay Away from Parliament
The Metropolitan Police coordinated closely with Commons authorities and Tory Whips before making the arrest. As a result, Rosindell was told not to attend Parliament, despite being uncontactable after his arrest.
A spokesperson for the Conservative Whips’ Office stated: “The chief whip has asked that the MP concerned does not attend the parliamentary estate while an investigation is ongoing. Until the conclusion of the investigation, we will not be commenting further.”
Serious Allegations Date Back to 2002-2009
The offences under investigation allegedly took place between 2002 and 2009 in London. Charges include indecent assault, sexual assault, rape, abuse of a position of trust, and misconduct in public office.
Rosindell’s Political Career Under Scrutiny
