Man Attacked with Bats and Machetes in Brutal Car Ambush

A man in his 40s was rushed to hospital after a savage assault on Common Road just before 6.15pm on Saturday, 16 December.

Victim Trapped and Attacked in Front of His Car

The victim was sitting in his silver Vauxhall Vectra when three men in another vehicle blocked him in. The attackers jumped out and began smashing his car with bats and machetes. The victim was then struck during the violent attack.

Police confirmed the man’s injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing. He remains in hospital receiving treatment after the terrifying ordeal.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

PC Simon Thomas of the South Staffordshire policing team called the incident “particularly vicious” and urged anyone with information to come forward.

“We are carrying out enquiries locally — checking CCTV and speaking to residents. Anyone with information, or dashcam footage, please get in touch.”
