Victims Rescue: Police Identify Potential Modern Slavery Survivors
“Three women aged 39 to 48 have been identified as possible modern slavery victims. They are now receiving specialist support and protection,” said Detective Inspector James Smith. “We believe some were brought into the country just to be exploited. Our top priority is their safety and long-term care.”
The raid focused on the sexual exploitation of women, but modern slavery covers forced labour, domestic servitude, and other abuses.
South Yorkshire Police Pledge Zero Tolerance on Slavery
“Tackling modern slavery is a priority. We will use every tool to catch those who enslave others,” said Detective Chief Inspector Anna Sedgwick. “Operations like this involve multiple police forces, agencies, and charities. Huge thanks to everyone involved.”
