One Year On: Police Renew Plea Over Murder of Mohammed Shah Subhani
It’s been exactly one year since Mohammed Shah Subhani vanished from Derby Road, Hounslow, on 7 May 2019. Today, detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are making a fresh appeal for information to crack the case wide open.
Detectives Pour Heart and Soul Into Investigation
Det Chief Insp Vicky Tunstall of the Met’s Specialist Crime (Homicide) said: “My team has worked tirelessly to piece together what happened to Shah on 7th May and the days after. We’ve left no stone unturned. We are determined to find justice for Shah and bring some peace to his family. We won’t stop until those responsible are identified and prosecuted.”
Since Shah’s remains were found in woodland near Beaconsfield in December, detectives have uncovered significant evidence. “This investigation remains a top Met priority,” Tunstall added.
Neighbours Asked to Recall Suspicious Activity
The police are appealing to anyone with knowledge about Shah’s disappearance or the events around May 7, especially those in Hedgerley Village, Buckinghamshire. It’s a quiet, close-knit area where strange goings-on would stand out.
Tunstall urged witnesses: “Can you live with what you know? Shah’s partner was pregnant when he vanished and has since had their daughter – who’ll grow up without ever meeting her father. Shah was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. If you hold the missing piece to this tragic puzzle, please come forward. We will handle your information with care and in complete confidence.”
Focus on Suspicious Black BMW X5
Detectives are especially keen to trace a black BMW X5 (plate YC67 MFY), spotted around the time near the woodland. The vehicle was using cloned plates. “Who was in that car on or after 7 May? Did you see it parked suspiciously?” Tunstall asked.
A hefty £20,000 reward is still on the table for info leading to an arrest and conviction. Even small or seemingly irrelevant tips could be the breakthrough.
