An 11-year-old girl was viciously attacked by a dog on Ben Jonson Road, Stepney Green, as she walked to school. The shocking incident happened just before 8.30am on Wednesday, 28 September.

Girl Mauled by Dog in Broad Daylight

The young victim was passing a man walking two dogs when one suddenly lunged at her, biting her several times on the hand and arm. A taxi driver nearby jumped in to pull the dog off her.

Serious Injuries and Hospital Stay

She was rushed to hospital, where she remained for several days undergoing treatment for serious wounds, including broken bones. The attack left her not just injured, but traumatised.

Dog Owner Flees Before Police Arrive

The owner of the dogs bolted from the scene before police got there. Detectives have since released footage of the dogs and their owner to track him down.

Detective Inspector Luke Hampton said: “This was a shocking and sustained attack on a young girl as she walked to school. The incident not only left her with serious injuries – including broken bones – but has also left her traumatised. We need to quickly identify the owner of these dogs to make sure this does not happen again.”
