A woman, 49, was raped in broad daylight on Angel Way at around 2.30pm on Sunday, 6 March. Police launched a major investigation and issued a public appeal on Monday, 11 April.
On Wednesday, 13 April, a 24-year-old man turned himself in at a police station. He was arrested on suspicion of rape but later released under investigation.
Ongoing Probe into Angel Way Attack
Detectives from the East Area Command Unit are leading the case. They continue to support the victim with specialist care as enquiries press on.
