Two Men Held Over Teen’s Murder in Croydon
Police have arrested two men linked to the stabbing death of a 16-year-old boy in Thornton Heath.
Arrests Made at Same Croydon Address
- A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday, 12 July.
- A 22-year-old man, initially arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, was later also arrested on suspicion of murder.
Both suspects remain in custody at a South London police station.
Tragic Teen Dies After Stabbing Near Swain Road
The fatal stabbing took place on Bensham Manor Road near Swain Road on Friday, 9 July. The victim was rushed to a South London hospital in a private vehicle by members of the public but sadly died two days later.
“The 16-year-old’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving specialist support,” police confirmed.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn said: “We’re urgently appealing for anyone who saw the stabbing or has dash cam or CCTV footage from around 3.45pm on 9 July near Bensham Manor Road to come forward.
“We believe the victim was attacked after an incident involving two people on a moped. If you saw the moped either before or after the stabbing, please contact us — no detail is too small.”
She added: “We do not believe this incident is connected to other violent crimes in the area.”
