South Hampstead Stabbing: Abdullahi Hassan, 20, Identified as Murder Victim

Detectives have named the man killed in a stabbing in South Hampstead as 20-year-old Abdullahi Hassan. Police found Abdullahi and a 22-year-old man with stab wounds at Ainsworth House, Boundary Road, NW8, shortly before midnight on Thursday, 25 July.

Both were rushed to hospital, but Abdullahi was pronounced dead at 00:37. The other man remains in serious but stable condition. Officers have informed Abdullahi’s family and are supporting them through the tragedy.

Brutal Stab Wound to the Chest Confirmed as Cause of Death

Apost-mortem on Saturday, 27 July, confirmed Abdullahi died from a stab wound to the chest. Meanwhile, a separate stabbing was reported just after midnight on Friday, 26 July.

At 00:01, a 20-year-old man was found with a stab wound to the leg on Lancefield Street, W10. He was taken to hospital where his injuries are non-life threatening. Police are investigating any possible links between the two attacks.

Earlier South Hampstead Station Fight Tied to Stabbings

Detectives are also probing a fight at South Hampstead Rail Station entrance on Loudon Road around 5pm on the same day. Several men were involved, but no serious injuries reported then.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Stancombe said:

“By releasing Abdullahi’s image, we hope someone recognises him or his killers and helps bring justice for his family. We also want information about the earlier fight at South Hampstead station during rush hour — the hottest day of the year. Were you there? Did you see or hear anything?”

He added:

“If you’re worried about speaking to police, we can handle your information confidentially and sensitively. We need your help to piece together what happened that day.”

Five Arrested; One Charged with Murder and Attempted Murder

Police have arrested five men aged 20 to 23 on suspicion of attempted murder. One has now been charged with both murder and attempted murder. The investigation remains ongoing.
