Police Crack Down on Dog Theft Crime
PC Martyn Tulk of the Community Policing Volunteer Canine team said: “The loss of a pet hits victims hard. Our officers chase every lead to get dogs back home.”
The Kent Police dog theft unit is on high alert, actively investigating cases and offering advice on prevention. They organise microchipping events and team up with the charity DogLost to reunite stolen pets with owners.
PC Tulk added: “Pet owners should take all precautions. Beyond microchipping, investing in strong home security, including CCTV and lights, can deter thieves.”
