Dog walk turns deadly as hit-and-run driver leaves man dead in Welsh village
A man walking his dog in Llanpumsaint, Carmarthenshire, was fatally struck in a hit-and-run just days before Christmas. The tragic crash happened on a quiet country lane near Caer Salem Baptist Chapel between 6:45 pm and 7:45 pm on Monday, December 23.
The culprit sped off in a damaged blue car, sparking a police manhunt for the driver.

Dyfed-Powys Police are urgently appealing to witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage from the area to come forward. The vehicle involved was heading northbound through Llanpumsaint at the time of the collision.
“Sadly, a man has died as a result of his injuries. Family liaison officers are supporting his loved ones during this devastating time. The car involved left the scene, and we are actively searching for the driver of the damaged blue vehicle,” a police spokesperson said.
“We urge anyone in the area around the incident to contact us, especially if you have dashcam footage. The road remains closed and will likely stay shut while our investigation continues.”
