Driver Deliberately Mows Down Cyclist in Southampton – Police Hunt Witnesses

Police are on the hunt for witnesses after a cyclist was knocked off his bike in a shocking hit-and-run on Colewell Close, Southampton, late on Monday night, 22 May.

Deliberate Crash Caught on Colewell Close

The incident unfolded just after 10pm when two men, aged 30 and 32, were cycling through Shirley Towers estate towards Colewell Close. Suddenly, a silver, old-style Vauxhall Astra, packed with several passengers, began tailing them.

Police say the car left the road, mounted a grassy patch, and deliberately collided with one of the cyclists before speeding off towards Sedbergh Road.

Police Investigate as Serious Assault

Officers believe the crash was no accident but a deliberate assault. The same silver Astra was reportedly seen around the area before 10pm, driving without lights and sporting a loud exhaust.
