Police Warn Against Drug Use and Crime

“We continue to work closely with railway enforcement officers and neighbouring police forces to prevent and disrupt violent crime in your local area through initiatives like this one,” said Sergeant Ash Boxall of Tonbridge Community Policing Team.

“Operations like this deter criminals from the streets of Kent—including those carrying weapons. Drug use, no matter the amount, fuels crime. Our dogs can detect users as well as carriers of illegal substances.”

“Anyone thinking about carrying or using drugs before heading out should ask themselves—is it worth the risk? We’ll keep running operations like this to keep our communities safe.”

The crackdown had full backing from railway employees, signalling a joint effort to clamp down on crime and drugs at Tonbridge station.
