Police Release E-Fit After Woman Assaulted on Gosport Cycle Path
Police are hunting a man after a 33-year-old woman was assaulted while out running in Gosport. The terrifying attack happened at around 7pm on Tuesday, November 29, on the cycle path between Alecto Road and Alver Creek.
Woman Attacked on Quiet Cycle Path
The woman was approached by a stranger who suddenly pushed her to the ground and grabbed her wrists. She fought back and managed to escape. Luckily, she only suffered bruising and no serious injuries.
Police Want to Speak to This Man
Officers have released an e-fit image of the suspect and want the public’s help to track him down. He’s described as:
- White male, around 40 years old
- Thin face, dark hair, and stubble
- Wearing black clothes, including a knee-length coat
- Did not speak, but made grunting noises
- Smelled “odd” according to the victim
Detective Constable Charlie Cox said: “I am not linking this investigation with any other reports in the area, but I want to find this man to help establish exactly what happened.”
He warned locals to stay alert, especially when using unlit cycle paths at night.
