Smoke Sparks Fire Alarm at Abandoned RSPCA Building

Emergency services rushed to a disused RSPCA building in New Addington after thick smoke was spotted billowing from the site.

Firefighters Battle Blaze at Former Animal Sanctuary

The London Fire Brigade sent three fire engines from Croydon and New Addington stations at around 4:30 p.m. Police officers were also on hand to secure the scene and help with safety.

Crews fought the flames, using hoses to get the fire under control. Locals reported seeing thick black smoke rising from the abandoned animal sanctuary, causing alarm in the community.

Investigation Underway as Property Remains Cordoned Off

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation. Meanwhile, the site remains sealed off while officials assess the damage.
