Knife-Wielding Thug Threatens Resident in Shocking Enfield Robbery Attempt
An Enfield local has issued a grim warning after a terrifying attempted robbery unfolded right on their driveway. It happened at around 7:42 PM on Sunday, April 14, on Pembroke Avenue, when a man threatened to stab the victim if they didn’t hand over their mobile phone.
A Close Call on Pembroke Avenue
The victim, who chose to stay anonymous, shared chilling details to alert the community and urge caution.
The suspect, described as a man in his early 20s wearing a dark blue hoodie and face mask, approached the victim as they walked from their home to their car, phone in hand. He began by claiming he had been stabbed recently and asked if the victim knew anyone in the area.
When the victim declined to engage, the attacker demanded to see their Snapchat account, trying to verify if they followed the people who had supposedly attacked him. The victim refused, and tensions escalated swiftly.
“He reached for his pocket claiming he had a knife and said: ‘Give me your phone or I’ll stab you up,’” the victim recounted. “He then spotted my neighbour’s security camera and said, ‘I don’t give a sh*t about cameras, I’ll stab you up.’”
Thinking quickly, the victim jumped into their car, locked the doors, and called police. The suspect begged them not to call the authorities before fleeing towards Enfield Rangers Football Field.
Police Hunt Underway
Officers responded quickly and scoured the area but failed to find the suspect. Enquiries continue, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
Community on High Alert
“This is unbelievable, especially as it happened right outside my own home,” the victim said. “I urge everyone in the area to stay vigilant, especially during the early evening hours. Times are clearly hard.”
Residents are advised to:
- Stay alert when using phones in public.
- Avoid walking alone after dark if possible.
