Tribute to ‘Much-Loved’ Woman Killed in Portsmouth Crash
A beloved woman has tragically died after a collision on Winston Churchill Avenue on Tuesday, 3 August.
Police were called at 9.32pm following a crash involving a blue Vauxhall Corsa and pedestrian 55-year-old Sharon Randall, known as Polly, from Waterloo Street, Southsea. Polly was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family Mourns ‘Huge Character’ Polly
“Polly was a much-loved partner of 33 years who has sadly been taken from us and will be missed so much,” said her family.
“She was a huge character that no one who knew her will ever forget. At this sad time, we ask for privacy to grieve and come to terms with this devastation.”
“Her memory will live on through the smiles and joy of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Rest in Peace, our Polly. You’ll be forever in our hearts.”
Driver Arrests Made After Hit-and-Run
The vehicle involved fled but was soon found nearby. Two people inside were arrested.
- A 32-year-old man from Cosham faces charges including dangerous driving, causing death by dangerous driving, and drug driving. He has been released under investigation.
- A 36-year-old woman from Cosham was also arrested but later released with no further action.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash cam or CCTV footage to come forward.
