Tragedy Strikes in Penzance: Man Dies After Fatal Crash
Police in Penzance are hunting for witnesses after a deadly crash involving a car at Stable Hobba, Newlyn, just after midnight on Saturday, July 15.
Unattended Honda Found at Scene
Officers arrived to find a Honda Civic abandoned at the scene. They believe one person fled before police got there.
Victim Found in Cardiac Arrest on Alverton Road
About an hour later, at 1 am, another call came in about a man on Alverton Road in Penzance. Officers found a man in his 30s in cardiac arrest. Despite desperate efforts by paramedics and police, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The next of kin have been informed,” police confirmed.
Two Arrested as Police Probe Fatal Crash
A grey BMW, linked to the incident, was recovered by the cops. Roads were shut for hours while the Alliance Roads Policing Team and forensic experts combed the area.
Police have since arrested a 29-year-old Penzance man on suspicion of death by dangerous driving. A 26-year-old from the same town faces charges of driving under the influence and possession of a class B drug. Both remain in custody.
